Ambassador of Italy visited the National Centre for Marketing and Price Study

On March 5, 2018 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to the Republic of Belarus H.E. Stefano Bianchi and Deputy Head of the Mission, Commercial Counselor Mr. Paolo Tonini met with the representatives of the NCMPS.

The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize the Italian diplomats with the activities of the NCMPS and discuss opportunities for cooperation.

The Director of the NCMPS Valery Sadokho pointed out, that in May, 2017 during the Belarus-Italy Economic Forum in Milan the NCMPS and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) signed the Memorandum of Understanding. In September, 2017 the NCMPS conducted a marketing research of the Belarusian market of beer at the request of the Moscow office of ICE.

Valery Sadokho specified that the NCMPS could conduct marketing research of any segment of the Belarusian market. The Director of the NCMPS also drew attention to the possibility of organizing meetings and negotiations for Belarusian and Italian business.

H.E. Stefano Bianchi pointed out that there is a positive trend in trade cooperation between both countries. According to his information, in January-November 2017 the trade turnover between both countries increased by almost 17% in comparison with the same period of the previous year and exceeded 600 mln EUR.

Speaking about investment cooperation, the Ambassador drew attention to the functioning of the Italian business club in Belarus. «Today it’s sort of a branch of the General Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria). By the way, in the near future Confindustria will apply to the authorities of Belarus in order to register a representative office in Minsk», H.E. Stefano Bianchi noted.


The Ambassador of Italy also announced a number of bilateral business events in 2018. In particular, the 2nd Session of the Intergovernmental Belarus-Italy Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation will be held in Rome. On March, 22 a delegation of the National Association of Building Organizations of Italy is expected to visit Belarus. On April, 23 the 2nd Belarus-Italy Business Forum on Green Economy will be held in Minsk. Both parties discussed forms of cooperation in the framework of these events.
