The National Centre for Marketing and Price Study renders assistance in FAO tenders participation
The National Centre for Marketing and Price Study of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus provides Belarusian legal entities with assistance in participation in tenders for goods supplies and services provision held by the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations that Belarus belongs to.
Belarusian legal entities registration as official suppliers for this organisation is a prerequisite for participation. The National Centre for Marketing and Price Study renders support to enterprises and organisations in registration as official suppliers of goods and services, and provides access to UN tenders, inclusive of that held by FAO, published in Tenders Information System.
Thus interested enterprises enjoy the opportunity to receive information on UN tenders for goods supply and services provision on-line. Legal entities can be provided with information support when participating in UN tenders. If needed, the National Centre for Marketing and Price Study can perform representative functions.
The Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) is an international organisation of the UN system. It is one of the leading United Nations Specialized Agencies. The main goal of FAO procurement is to achieve a food-secure world by raising levels of nutrition, improving agricultural productivity, bettering the lives of rural populations and contributing to the growth of the world economy. As such, the primary focus of FAO procurement is in the areas of agricultural, forestry and fishery products and machinery, as well as services related to technical studies, construction and information dissemination activities.
In 2010 FAO procured goods and services to the amount of 167.82 mln USD, inclusive of goods – 122.19 mln USD and services – 45.63 mln USD.
The list of most frequently procured goods include chemicals; agricultural products; special-purpose equipment; transport equipment; office, accounting and computing machinery; grain mill products and starches; other food products; live animals and animal products; fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment; general-purpose equipment.
The list of most frequently purchased services includes repair and maintenance services; information technology; communication services; trade services, business services and marketing studies; architectural, engineering and construction services; transport and storage services; training; seed storage; management services.
