The National Centre for Marketing held a meeting with representatives of the Vietnamese corporation HAPRO
On September 14, the delegation of the Vietnamese corporation HAPRO headed by the Deputy General Director of the corporation Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hai Thanh visited the National Centre for Marketing. The delegation included the Director of the Export-Import Branch of the company in the northern direction Mr. Le Anh Tuan, the Trade Counselor of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Republic of Belarus Mr. Nguyen Tien Phuong and the Counselor of the Embassy Mr. Nguyen Tung Lam.
Representatives of 15 food enterprises and large retail chains attended the meeting from the Belarusian side.
Director of the National Marketing Center Valery Sadokho recalled the words of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the recent meeting with the Vietnamese Ambassador Le Anh that political relations between the countries are at a much higher level than trade and economic cooperation: «Economic collaboration between Belarus and Vietnam needs to be increased to the level of political relations».
«At today's meeting we’ll try to create a basis for achieving this high level in the economic cooperation. Moreover, participants of the meeting are interested in cooperation: some goods in Vietnam can be purchased at a half price comparing to current suppliers», — Valery Sadokho noted.
Nguyen Tien Phuong stated that while the trade turnover between both countries is not as high as it should be, still there is a potential: in 2017 the indicator of mutual trade in goods amounted to 135 million USD. Nguyen Tung Lam agreed and confirmed that this meeting could contribute to the solution of the task set by the heads of the two countries to achieve the trade turnover of 500 million USD.
Belarusian enterprises are interested both in exporting their products through the network of trade facilities of HAPRO in Vietnam, and in importing Vietnamese products. Tea, coffee, rice, nuts, peppers and other spices, canned and fresh fruits and vegetables from Vietnam could appear on the shelves of Belarusian stores.
Vietnam annually imports up to 70% of dairy products for the needs of the market, therefore representatives of HAPRO were especially interested in the offers of Belarusian milk processing enterprises, in particular Babushkina Krynka, Belovezhskie Syry, Glubokoe dairy-canning factory. Representatives of the Vietnamese corporation were also interested in the products of Klimovichi Plant of Alcoholic Beverages, Confectionery factory «Slodych», Lidapischekontsentraty and other companies.
During the negotiations in the B2B format held after the meeting, the parties discussed in more detail possible areas of cooperation, exchanged contacts and agreed to continue cooperation.
