First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus visited the National Centre for Marketing

On May 22, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchin held a working meeting with the management and specialists of the National Centre for Marketing. The government is focused on the process of creating and implementing a state information-analytical system for public procurement management (GIAS).

The First Deputy Prime Minister was informed about the digital transformation of public procurements in the Republic of Belarus, creation of the GIAS and the amount of work carried out, including the interaction of information systems - GIAS, electronic trading platforms and automated financial settlement system of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus - through the national automated information system.

The First Deputy Prime Minister was also presented with the automated small-volume procurement system, one of the latest developments of the National Centre for Marketing.

The working meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus, the National Center for Electronic Services and others.

Background information:

From July 1, 2019, a new version of the Law «On public procurement of goods (works, services)» will come into force, marking the transition to the electronic type of public procurements, the introduction of electronic procurement based on OCDS (open contract data standard) and open data in Belarus. The State Information and Analytical Public Procurement Management System (GIAS) will also be developed and implemented.

The developer of the GIAS is the National Centre for Marketing.

The GIAS will contribute to increasing the transparency and efficiency of public procurements and reducing transaction costs for buyers and sellers, as well as improving the quality of public services in general.
