The National Centre for Marketing organized B2B meetings for the British retailer Kingfisher plc

On March 28, the National Centre for Marketing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized B2B meetings with Belarusian manufacturers in the field of construction and improvement for the British retailer company Kingfisher plc.

Kingfisher plc (United Kingdom) visited Belarus to find strategic partners. Kingfisher plc is a large European DIY retailer (self-service retail stores), which has about 1,300 stores in Europe (Castorama, B&Q, Brico Depot, Screwfix).

About 30 Belarusian companies expressed their interest in establishing cooperation with foreign trade network. Bellesbumprom Concern, JSC «BMW», JSC «Vitebsk Carpets», JSC «HORIZONT», JSC «Ivatsevichdrev», JSC «Lenta», JSC «Lakokraska», JSC «Kobrin Plant SITOMO» and other manufacturers were among them.

«Today's meeting will contribute to the expansion of Belarusian exports in the European DIY segment, as well as to the development of bilateral trade relations», the Director of the National Centre for Marketing Valery Sadokho said.

The representative of Kingfisher plc, the Head of the Procurement Group of the Moscow branch office, Tatyana Yarmolchik said that the company's priority is to find and establish mutually beneficial cooperation with manufacturers to deliver DIY products to European stores located in the UK, France, Poland, Germany, Spain and Romania. «Participation in tenders of our company is a difficult process, and we are ready to provide comprehensive support to potential suppliers, including technical and social audit. And most importantly - to promote the motivation of manufacturers in such cooperation, - the representative of the British retailer said. - Kingfisher's strategy is to become a leader in housing for both professionals and amateurs».

Capabilities of the Portal Export.by, an electronic showcase of goods from Belarusian manufacturers, were presented to participants of the meeting. Representatives of Kingfisher plc noted that with the help of Export.by they found a significant number of suitable suppliers and expressed their gratitude to the National Marketing Center for the high level of organization of the business event.

B2B negotiations were held during the meeting. Representatives of Kingfisher plc are planning to visit Belarusian manufacturers, including LLC «KapitalStroyGroup» (in Molodechno) and JSC «Borisovski DOK» (in Borisov).
