A Belarusian-Korean video conference on bilateral cooperation in the food and textile industry segment was held

On March 24, the National Marketing Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, together with the Korean Importers Association (KOIMA) and with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Korea, organized a video conference for Belarusian enterprises interested in arranging supplies of textile and food products to the market of the Republic of Korea.

Director of the National Marketing Center Valery Sadokho noted the great prospects for the growth of exports of Belarusian food and textile products to Korea. The expert emphasized that the production capacities of Belarusian enterprises are sufficient to meet the demand of the Korean market, and we are capable of such task. There are also certain positions of Belarusian textile industry goods, which are in demand in the markets of the Asian region. “Belarus produces high-tech fabric, resistant to fire, which is used for tailoring specialized uniforms. A contract for the supply of such material has already been concluded with a customer in Taiwan,” Valery Sadokho gave an example of possible cooperation. The expert also made a presentation on the possibilities of the National Marketing Center to support Belarusian exporters.

The export potential of Belarusian textile industry enterprises and the achievements of the concern were presented by the deputy chairman of the Bellegprom concern Vadim Lamkov.

More than 30 Belarusian enterprises took part in the videoconference. Within the framework of the program of the business event, presentations of the export potential of Belarusian producers were held: Minsk Sparkling Wine Factory OJSC, Molochny Mir OJSC, Kommunarka OJSC, Orshansky Flax Factory, and other food and textile industry enterprises.

On the Korean side, large importers, members of the KOIMA Association, took part in the videoconference. A discussion of the certification procedure, procedures for obtaining a certificate of conformity of enterprises for the right to supply meat and dairy products, food products to the Korean market took place. Employees of the Embassy of Belarus in the Republic of Korea presented up-to-date information on the conditions for conducting foreign trade activities in the Korean market.
