A working video conference with the Swedish OTGS took place

On January 17, a working meeting was held in the National Center for Marketing in the form of video conferencing with representatives of business and diplomatic missions of Sweden. The goal is to discuss the immediate prospects for trade and economic cooperation between countries. 

The discussion was attended by Valery Sadoho, Director of the National Center for Marketing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Dmitry Matyulko, adviser on trade and economic issues at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Kingdom of Sweden, Conrad Rickardsson, first secretary of the Embassy of Sweden in Belarus, Julian Sivers, adviser on trade policy at Open Trade Gate Sweden, and others.

Open Trade Gate Sweden (OTGS) is a government organization created to simplify trade and increase exports from developing countries to Sweden. OTGS provides information on the rules, procedures and technical requirements for imported products in Sweden. OTGS, in collaboration with foreign embassies, organizes the “Export to Sweden” seminars and also provides such services. as online answers to questions from exporters from developing countries and Swedish importers interested in importing from these countries.

The parties discussed cooperation in the field of seminars for 2020-2021, including through video conferencing. Scheduled workshops will specialize in highlighting market entry challenges for the EU and Sweden. The parties agreed to invite Belarusian exporters and Swedish importers, who already have experience in working with partners in Sweden and Belarus, respectively, who participate in seminars.

During the discussion, representatives of the Swedish business expressed their desire to be speakers at the series of seminars “Export to the EU”, which are held annually by the National Center for Marketing . The next seminars on heavy industry and woodworking are scheduled for March-April 2020.
