The event was organized jointly with the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Arab Republic of Egypt and was held with the participation of the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Arab Republic of Egypt (to the Sultanate of Oman, the Republic of Sudan and the Algerian People's Democratic Republic - concurrently) Sergei Terentyev.
The webinar was organized for Belarusian enterprises interested in exporting products to this region. It was attended by Belarusian manufacturers, as well as the administrative departments of our country. Counselors of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Arab Republic of Egypt informed exporters about the peculiarities of promoting the export of Belarusian goods in this region.
Sergey Terentyev noted that at present the Egyptian market is characterized by activity and dynamism, as well as stability. The latter allows exporters to count on long-term partnerships. The Ambassador also stressed that, despite the traditional presence of competitors in this market, the Belarusian agricultural machinery is attractive for the Egyptian region.
Director of the National Marketing Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Valery Sadokho highlighted the factors affecting the attractiveness of this region for Belarusian exporters: “Egypt occupies a large-scale territory with a population of about 100 million and is one of the leaders in terms of population on the African continent. Egypt's imports amount to over US $64 billion. "
“In addition, - the expert expressed his opinion, - if we talk about the development of export activities in the countries of the long-range arc, it should be noted that North Africa is the closest to the Republic of Belarus. With significant economic influence on the African continent, Egypt can become a regional hub through which our goods can go further to some other African countries. "
