A webinar on e-commerce for Belarusian exporters was held with the International Trade Center

The National Marketing Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus continues to work on organizing events aimed at promoting the development of electronic commerce in Belarus. On March 3, a webinar “E-commerce as a tool for the development of Belarusian exports” was held, in which more than 60 Belarusian enterprises took part. The event was organized jointly with the International Trade Center and with the support of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Belarus to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

The invited experts of the International Trade Center informed the webinar participants about the trends in the development of e-commerce, possible barriers, requirements and practical skills required by companies to master this type of trade, as well as about popular electronic trading platforms in Europe and other countries - promising for Belarusian products, in particular Amazon.com.

James Hove, Senior Advisor for International Marketing and Branding, highlighted the most important components of successful online trading: quality content, including photographs and detailed descriptions of goods in a foreign language, professional online promotion and an affordable payment system.

Director of the National Marketing Center Valery Sadokho focused the attention of the webinar participants on the electronic showcase of Belarusian goods on the Export.by portal. The platform features about 7 thousand companies, including foreign ones, and more than 21 thousand goods, services and technologies. The portal as a tool for non-financial support of foreign economic activity in the Republic of Belarus provides an opportunity to easily find a business partner. At present, the National Marketing Center has launched a mechanism that allows concluding transactions on the Export.by portal using an electronic digital signature (EDS). The speaker explained the mechanism of such an operation step by step: a scheme for concluding contracts, instructions for sellers and buyers, conditions for obtaining an EDS. Valeriy Sadokho also said that the National Marketing Center is currently working on the possibility of receiving an EDS in a remote format. It is assumed that such an opportunity will facilitate trade with foreign partners.

As part of the webinar, there was a demonstration of training videos on e-commerce of the International Trade Center, as well as a discussion panel in the Q&A format.
