A meeting with the Honorary Consul of Belarus in Iraq was held at the National Centre for Marketing

On February 21, Valery Sadokho, the Director of the National Centre for Marketing, held a meeting with the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Iraq Mr. Majid Al-Qaysi and his assistant Yury Budko.

While addressing the guests Valery Sadokho said that, according to the portal Export.by, 18 belarusian organizations are currently working in the Iraqi market, and 93 more are interested in entering it.

During the meeting the parties discussed the prospects for the development of trade and economic relations between Belarus and Iraq.

Employees of the National Centre for Marketing made a presentation of the enterprise’s activities, in particular, the capabilities of the Information Export Support Web-site Export.by. Foreign companies, including companies from Iraq, can display their products, services and technologies on the portal, follow their offers of interest, search for partners and customers from Belarus.

The meeting was also attended by a representative of the UE «Paper Mill» Goznak, who presented samples of products to the Iraqi side. The Honorary Consul promised to hand them over to interested Iraqi companies.

Background information

The Belarus-Iraq trade and economic cooperation has been actively developing in recent years. In 2018, the trade turnover between the countries increased by more than five times compared with 2017 and amounted to $ 15.8 million. The main export items are medicines, petroleum products, potash fertilizers, construction joinery products and cosmetics.
